WANT A FREE LAWN TICKET TO SEE JUDAS PRIEST'S METAL MASTERS TOUR
| Posted by robertr994 on Monday, June 09 @ 13:42:29 CDT (131 reads)
YOU MAY BE IN LUCK!
Yes, you did indeed read that right. While supplies last, when you purchase any
configuration (regular cd edition, limited edition-deluxe hard-bound version and
limited edition deluxe box ( 3LP's, 2 CD, book and poster) available only at
Best Buy) of the initial pressing of Judas Priest's double disc concept album, 'Nostradamus'
(release date - June 17th), specially marked CD's will contain an insert with a
exclusive code inside the CD package for one free lawn ticket to see Judas
Priest on selected dates of the Metal Masters tour this summer, courtesy of Live
Nation (see below for a complete list). Visit www.judaspriest.com for details on
this special offer. This seemingly too-good-to-be-true offer will be good while
supplies last. Also, this offer will not pertain to all the dates of the Metal
Masters tour (see below for complete list of dates that the offer is good for).
The Metal Masters tour will undoubtedly be the top metal concert attraction of
the summer. In addition to a headlining performance by Judas Priest, fans will
also be treated to sets by Heaven & Hell, Motorhead, and Testament. "As ever, we
look forward to screaming out loud with our metal maniac fans when we hit the
road," enthuses Priest singer, Rob Halford. "The Priest is back!"
The tour, produced by Live Nation, will be Priest's first thorough sets of U.S.
dates in nearly three years, and will be in support of the group's
aforementioned 'Nostradamus' release. Long in the works, 'Nostradamus' was
recorded in the UK, and takes epic storytelling to a whole new level, as it
recounts the life of this mysterious, world-known 16th century French prophet.
Some of the events that Nostradamus experts have interpreted as some of his
predictions include the great fire of London in 1666, the rise of Adolf Hitler,
and most recently, 9-11, among countless other renowned events.
"For me, 'Nostradamus' has been a musical journey without comparison," adds
guitarist KK Downing. "The intrigue and mystery that surrounds this revered man
has expanded my perception of heavy metal to the highest plateau and enabled me
to reach the outer limits of my imagination and transport unique feelings and
emotions to the instrument that allows me to express myself."
Praiseworthy advance reviews of 'Nostradamus' have only caused the buzz to grow
around Priest's 16th studio release overall. Case in point, a review by Eddie
Trunk (host of the syndicated radio show 'Eddie Trunk Rocks'), in which he
raved, "Priest touches on so much new ground and really pushed the envelope on
some things.
The album takes you on a nearly two-hour journey. It is without a doubt best
looked at as a complete work as all true concept albums are. You can really see
it living out on a stage. It sounds like Priest have truly created something
special and once again lived up to their rightful billing as 'Metal Gods'."
As to why they chose to make a concept album about Nostradamus, Glenn Tipton
explains: "We didn't - he chose us. We feel it was meant to be!"
Soon, the Metal Gods will be destroying a concert stage near you.

Humanity Dethroned
[KZ08]
KillZone Records is extremely proud to announce the release of a classic metal
album. New Jersey based thrash/prog/metal act Dark Empire’s sophomore release
‘Humanity Dethroned’. Formed by Matt Moliti (lead and rhythm guitars, death
vocals) in 2004, the current band includes Jens Carlsson (Savage Circus,
Persuader) lead vocals, Andrew Atwood (lead, rhythm guitar, death vocals) and
Samus (Suspyre, Mutiny) drums. Influenced by Symphony X and Rage, Moliti created
Dark Empire to be what in his eyes would be
the epitome of the perfect metal band: thrashy riffs, blazing solos and
aggressive yet melodic vocals, full of energy and emotion. ‘Humanity Dethroned’
is a powerful metal album with the classic metal spirit driving huge, powerful
and agressive thrash riffs with enduring melodies that lift the album, ‘Humanity
Dethroned’ is a perfect balance of writing, melody, aggressive, thrash riffs: A
Metal album that connects to the true spirit of metal in all of us.
No
strangers to success this early in their career, the band’s self released debut
album ‘Distant Tides’ placed #2 in the year
end "best indie release of 2006" list), in BW&BK magazine scoring an impressive
9.5/10. ‘Humanity Dethroned has been mastered by Mika Jussla at Finnvox Studios

LACUNA COIL Singer To Perform With APOCALYPTICA At DOWNLOAD Festival, METAL HAMM
| Posted by robertr994 on Friday, May 16 @ 18:18:49 CDT (165 reads)
Anonymous writes "
LACUNA COIL vocalist Cristina Scabbia has confirmed that she
will perform with Finnish cello quartet APOCALYPTICA at this year's
Download festival on Sunday, June 15 at Donington Park, Leicestershire,
UK.
Cristina will be sing the epic ballad "S.O.S. (Anything But Love)",
which was featured on APOCALYPTICA's new album, "Worlds Collide",
and was released as a single earlier this year, accompanied by a suitably dark
and lavish video (see below). "S.O.S. (Anything But Love)" was also
featured in the new motion picture "Stone's War" — a science-fiction
war movie based on a story of Finnish soldiers during World War 2.
The Download festival performance will mark the first time that
APOCALYPTICA has performed live with Cristina Scabbia. It will also
be Cristina's first appearance in the UK without LACUNA COIL,
something she's rather excited about. She says, "I've been invited by my
friends APOCALYPTICA to join them during their set at Download,
on the song 'S.O.S. (Anything But Love)' and GOD I SO can't wait! You
know how much I love the UK and how much I ADORE the always-fantastic crowd,
so expect me to be very emotional and happy on stage! I want to see you all
there during the performance; it's gonna rock."
APOCALYPTICA and Cristina will also perform their song
collaboration at this year's prestigious Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards
at Indigo O2 on June 16.
Cristina comments: "Last time I performed at the Metal Hammer Awards:
1) I won an award, and that was AWESOME 2) I was sick, very sick, and that was
a LITTLE LESS awesome, but STILL great because LACUNA COIL performed
that night as well ... and I saw you guys being there with us, hearts and
souls. This year I'll be there without the LACUNA boys, but with my
other buddies of APOCALYPTICA. When we perform 'S.O.S. (Anything But
Love)' I expect you all to sing it with me!!!" And after, we all will
party together, that's for sure!"
LACUNA COIL is currently working on its highly anticipated new album,
the follow-up to 2006's "Karmacode", but will take a short break in
June to play some headlining shows in Australia.
